چکیده
Currently, there is no uniform respiratory support strategy during cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) in cardiac anesthesiology. The aim of the study was to examine possible variants CPB and determine most effective technique capable reduce incidence postoperative pulmonary complications. Material methods . Ninety surgery patients were enrolled pilot divided into groups (CPAP, VC, apnea). In CPAP group, positive airway pressure + 5 cm H 2 O maintained CPB. VC group underwent mechanical ventilation with a reduced tidal volume 3 mL/kg, rate 6/min, REER O. apnea received (non-rebreathing system). Results both (constant pressure) decrease oxygenation index (OI) at end compared baseline values. OI dropped from 316.31±81.76 230.10±102.48, while it decreased 319.37±80.01 223.17±152.36 ( P <0.001). No significant changes this parameter observed group. frequency recruitment maneuvers after correct impaired maximal (22 cases (73%) versus 13 (43%) (16%) group) Frequency atelectasis on chest radiology period 47, 37, 10% apnea, CPAP, groups, respectively, difference also =0.006). Conclusion Low-volume preferable method

BACKGROUND Veno-arterial extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) is a common modality of circulatory assist device used in children. We assessed the outcome of children who had ECMO following repair of congenital cardiac defects (CCD) and identified the risk factors associated with hospital mortality. METHODS From April 1990 to December 2003, 53 patients required ECMO following surgical co...
